What to do after a deep cleaning (scaling)

Deep cleaning, also known as scaling or root planing, is one of the most common procedures we conduct to treat periodontal disease.

We always discuss in depth with our patients what to expect both during and after a deep cleaning session, but here are a few things which will help you to prepare for what to expect after your appointment.

You May Experience Some Soreness. This is completely normal, and should only last a few days.

It’s also normal to experience sensitivity to cold foods and liquids following periodontal treatment.
